Get your red and white gear ready, Canada Day will soon be here.
A red and white colour scheme is a no-brainer for a Canada Day celebration, but consider giving it a modern DIY-inspired spin. Having your colour scheme flow right down to the cutlery helps complete the look. Canadian citizens are invited to eat for free at an Ontario-based Chinese-Canadian restaurant chain this Canada Day, but legal experts say the offer may come with a side of discrimination.
And while many Torontonians will be packing up and heading to the cottage, there are plenty of awesome events worth checking out right here in the city.
Best of all, there are tons of great events that are completely free.
From fireworks and food festivals to family-friendly events, we’ve rounded up 16 Canada Day events happening in the city this weekend that you can enjoy without spending a dime.
*Go to a Canada Day festival. Many larger cities in Canada host huge events with many free attractions. Festivals may have magic shows, stilt walkers, bouncy castles, and great food options.
